Stakeholder Consultation on Biodiversity Governance in Bihar

The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Bodh Gaya, in collaboration with the Bihar State Biodiversity Board (BSBB), organized a stakeholder consultation on 18 May 2026 to mark the International Day of Biodiversity under the theme “Acting Locally for Global Impact.” The discussions focused on biodiversity governance, Access and Benefit Sharing (ABS), and sustainable management of bio-resources in Bihar. The consultation concluded with stakeholder recommendations and the adoption of the Bihar Biodiversity Action Statement, reaffirming a collective commitment to community-centred conservation and nature-positive development.

Drawing on national policies, institutional initiatives, and international collaborations, the study explores the opportunities and challenges associated with integrating renewable energy into India’s power system while assessing the prospects for regional and transnational grid connectivity across Asia. The paper highlights the role of technology, governance, regulatory frameworks, and cross-border cooperation in advancing energy security, sustainable development, and decarbonization, positioning India as a key actor in shaping the future of interconnected green energy systems in the region.
